Who is this for?
Grief Support is open to anyone who has lost a loved one to drug overdose. Though HERO's focus is on heroin/opioid related issues, we welcome anyone who has experienced a loss due to overdose from any substance.
What do we do?
The group is run by Arlene Dulski, a licensed counselor specializing in grief. Each month the group discusses different grief related topics, specifically suited to losses resulting from overdose. Arlene focuses on grief as a process and the group is structured in such a way that anyone who regularly attends is guided through expressing and coping with their grief in a structured way, one small step at a time.
Why should I attend?
Most family members who attend Grief Support will tell you they begin to feel better after just one meeting. Knowing there are others who have gone through and are grieving the same type of loss is relieving to many. By attending you will be taking an important step to begin feeling better but never forgetting your loved one.
How much does it cost?
Grief Support is completely free to attend for as many meetings as you'd like. Donations are always appreciated but never required.
